DPD creates over 250 jobs with £10.2m investment in six new depots

New depots in Dartford, Feltham, Liverpool, Lincoln, Radlett and Reading

The UK’s fastest growing major parcel delivery company DPD has invested £10.2m on new depots in Dartford, Feltham, Radlett, Reading, Liverpool and Lincoln.

The new depots, which collectively are expected to create over 250 new jobs, will expand DPD’s capacity to handle a significant increase in B2C parcel volumes generated by its hugely
successful one-hour timeslot service, Predict.
The new state-of-the art, purpose built facilities in Dartford, Feltham and Reading are replacements for existing DPD depots while Lincoln, Liverpool and Radlett are brand new depot locations for the company.

DPD has invested £2.5m in a new purpose built, 36,000 sq ft depot to service customers in South London and parts of Kent. The new depot, which is located just off the QE2 Bridge, will also specifically serve the Bluewater shopping centre. The depot’s increased capacity – from 2,000 to 8,000 parcels a day – means it can accommodate 50 new routes and take volume from DPD’s depots in London Central, Croydon and Maidstone. When fully operational, the site will create 55 new jobs.
