CourierPost re-route via Nelson Airport to assist aircraft landing technology upgrade in Blenheim

(31/03/2014) CourierPost is supporting the new technology upgrade of navigational equipment at Blenheim Airport. The technology helps guide aircraft safely onto the runway when they’re landing. While this advancement is underway CourierPost will re-route its Fokker F27 Friendship Aircraft via Nelson Airport.

The re-route via Nelson Airport starts on Monday 7 April and is due to finish around three to four weeks later, weather dependant. To minimise any noise and inconvenience that may be caused CourierPost has delayed its flight schedule by three hours meaning the aircraft will now land in Nelson at 06.00am.

Express Couriers Limited General Manager of Transport, Alan Court said “We want to ensure we maintain our delivery standards for our customers in the region without causing local residents disruption.”

“Our business delivers some very specialised and time critical freight including; medical supplies, urgent legal documents and perishable goods and the community really depend on us to get things to them on time.”
