DPD opened South Hub — the second hub in the Moscow region

Moscow, February 9, 2016 — The international leading provider of express parcel and freight delivery services DPD announced the opening of a new south hub withan automated sortline in Domodedovo (Moscow region).

Solemn opening of a new DPD hub and launch of the fully automated sorting line with a processing capacity up to 3000 parcels per hour took place on February 9, 2016 in Domodedovo. The cumulative investments amounted to over 1  million euros.

The depot of class А with the area of 10 thousand square meters is located near a large road junction which allows to organize transportation of shipments bypassing Moscow and avoid traffic jams. The sorting line is equipped with ROTA-Sorter nodes that facilitate processing parcels of multiple type. It ensures quick and failsafe unloading, accuracy of  parcel weight and dimensions measurements, thereby increasing the efficiency.
