UK Mail’s new ‘Super Hub’ nears completion

Our Birmingham head office is soon relocating to Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Coventry.  The new site will enable us to increase efficiency and put in place a platform to efficiently process ever increasing parcel volumes.

Covering 22.8 acres; the site features a state of the art office building built across three floors, with a 187,000 sq.ft.warehouse (the size of almost 2.5 football pitches), and this comes complete with 150 shutter doors. The grounds can park 130 trailers and tractor units, in addition to a 300 space staff car park.

‘This has been a very exciting project’, said CEO Guy Buswell. ‘To see how the site has developed over the last twelve months is astonishing. The state of the art, modern buildings reflect UK Mail’s innovative and forward thinking ethos.  The size of the new warehouse and the new machinery we have invested in will allow us to handle 24,000 parcels per hour; that’s four times more than previously.  It will enable us to continue to move forward as a UK leader within the parcel and mail markets’.

Our employees will start to move across as of February 23rd and the site will be fully operational by May 2015. Pictured below are two very different views of the Ryton-On-Dunsmore site. The first was taken on Christmas Eve 2013, prior to the start of the project, the second, was taken on Christmas Eve 2014.
