Christmas charity project organized by DPD CZ

12 February 2015 – PEOPLE STILL HELPING OTHERS BY CONTRIBUTING TO GOOD CAUSES THROUGH DPD’S CHARITIES
The end of 2014 saw the close of “A čeho se vzdáte vy?” (And What Are You Giving Up?), a Christmas charity project organized by DPD. Its aim was to let as many people as possible contribute toward a good cause. The third edition of this eventtook place late last year starting on November 10 and managed to raise 64,500 Czech crowns. Over the three yearsthe event has been held, nonprofits Arkadie, o.p.s. and the Czech Radio Foundation have raisedalmost CZK 500,000along with Project Světluška.

Viewers are urged to contribute in advertising spots that feature actor and director Jakub Kohák and two colleagues sitting in a restaurant and giving up dessert and coffee, opting instead to send the money they save directlyto NGOs through www.acehosevzdatevy.cz. “Every year the project seeks to encourage anyone interested in helping out and convince them that even giving up something small can significantly help others,” commented Ondřej Vaňha, Sales and Marketing Director of DPD on the main idea behind the project, adding: “We are very pleased this year that we along with our customers have managed to raisesubstantial sums toward the activities of organizations seeking to help people with disabilities have a dignified and fulfilling life.”
