DPD takes over the German franchisee, DPD Systemlogistik

Subject to approval by the cartel authority, DPD GeoPost (Deutschland) GmbH will be the new owner of DPD Systemlogistik with effect from 1st April 2015

All seven sites, including 600 employees and 750 delivery staff will be taken over

With the purchase of the franchisee, DPD Systemlogistik, the international Parcel and Express Courier Service, DPD is completing its organisational structure in the German market. Contracts were signed last Friday. To date, DPD Systemlogistik, as franchisee of DPD, has been operating seven sites in southern Germany and Saxony, employing approximately 600 members of staff and 750 delivery staff. The present owner of DPD Systemlogistik is the competitor, GLS Germany GmbH & Co. OHG. The takeover by DPD GeoPost (Deutschland) GmbH – already the largest franchisee of DPD in Germany– is still subject to approval by the Federal Cartel Office but is expected to be completed on 31st March 2015. The purchase includes taking over all staff and sites. Business relations with all customers and system partners will continue seamlessly. It was agreed that the purchase price should remain confidential.
