The UPS Foundation Donates US$57,000 to Two Local Charities in Vietnam

Donations aimed towards improving the lives of underprivileged and physically disabled individuals

The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS (NYSE: UPS), recently donated US$30,000 to Maison Chance and US$27,000 to Education for Development (EFD). The donations will be used to improve the lives of disadvantaged and disabled people.

“UPS has a long history of giving back to the communities in which we live and work around the world. We are very proud to be able to continue this legacy locally in Vietnam through The UPS Foundation’s donations to Maison Chance and EFD. Their efforts to help the underprivileged and physically disabled individuals integrate with the society are aligned with UPS’s commitment in making a long-term positive impact on the community,” said Jeff McLean, General Manager of UPS Vietnam.

Maison Chance provides assistance to orphans, street children, disadvantaged people and the physically disabled in the form of housing, health care, education and vocational training. The organisation gives under-privileged children and people with disabilities the opportunity to study and work, offering them the means for rehabilitation and an easier entry into society. The UPS Foundation donation will help defray daily operational costs of Maison Chance and contribute to its social rehabilitative programme.
